Signs Your Exhaust Might be Leaking

The exhaust system on your vehicle begins at its connection to the intake manifold. It removes the gas and air mixture from the engine’s cylinders and moves them through the catalytic converter and muffler before releasing them into the atmosphere. It’s a critical aspect of the car’s performance.

There are some symptoms you might have noticed that could indicate it’s time to have the exhaust serviced. One of them is smelling fumes. If that’s the case, the manifold gasket is probably the culprit. They wear out eventually and need to be replaced. You may be hearing a popping sound coming from the engine. It should be addressed, as letting that go can lead to burned spark plugs and wires.
